I’ve always been academic, and didn’t really know what I wanted to do when I was little. In year 10, I completed work experience at Marshalls Plc, whilst there, I used CAD. It was here, that I first began to like the idea of design, somehow associating this with web design.

The completion of my GCSE’s saw me send off numerous letters to local web and graphic design companies looking for a apprenticeship. I was unsuccessful. I did apply for a job using CAD drawing out floor plans, I didn’t get it. I went back to sixth form and completed my A-levels.

I didn’t want to go to university. I didn’t want to study anymore, I’d had enough of education. I repeated my process from two years previous and sent out lots of letters. With no luck, I applied for a job as a trainee account and got it.

I soon realised this wasn’t for me. I received my A-level results and this gave me the nudge to hand in my notice. The same day I set abut finding a web design course, and applied for FdA Web Design. I’m now an FdA web design graduate and am working in the industry.
