For the final four months of the course we had to form a web design team, and complete real work, for real clients. I acted as project manager. We saw 12 projects through to completion.
By acting as project manager, I have gained experience in other areas to web design and development, particularly meeting clients. My confidence has improved, and I feel like I could deal with any difficult client situations.
My role consisted of communicating with clients, including scoping meetings, and maintaining effective communication with all team members and the Programme Leader. I also had to make lots of decisions, delegate work and thoroughly plan the process.
My favourite aspect of the project was the all round experience that I gained, whilst the slight negative was the huge amount of time it took up. I also found it difficult at times, because as well as being colleagues throughout the project, we are all friends.
